The Defense Meteorological Satellite Programme (DMSP) Block 6 series of military meteorological satellites were intended to be a follow-on to the Block 5D series with the designation WS-2A. With the availability of upgraded Block 5D satellites, development has not proceeded and the programme was cancelled. No contractor was selected.
