Simmonds Aerocessories OQ-11

In 1941, Simmonds Aerocessories (a supplier of aeroplane parts and equipment) built a small low-performance radio-controlled target drone, which was tested by the USAAF as the OQ-11. Source [1] quotes an original designation of A-11, which seems odd because the short-lived A-for-Aerial Target series reached only A-8 according to all relevant sources. The OQ-11 had a span of about 3.6 m (12 ft) and was powered by a Herkimer four-cylinder piston engine. Apart from the prototype, no additional OQ-11s were built.
